Albert Cuyp Market
This market began trading in 1904 when a canal was filled to make space for it, and it was named after the Dutch landscape painter Albert Cuyp (1620-1691).  Amsterdam’s most well-known market offers everything from fresh food to general goods and furnishings.

Waterlooplein Market
In the 1880s, two canals were filled in the heart of the jewish quarter to create one large market square.  It is Amsterdam’s largest flea market and has just about everything from army surplus, clothes, wooden carvings to any sort of small inexpensive items.

BloemenMarkt
(Flower Market)
A stunningly fragrant flower and plant market open year-round with many souvenirs and plant bulbs to buy.  It is located at the Muntplein.

NieuwMarkt
(New Market)

On the NieuwMarkt square by the imposing 15th Century Waag building, it offers antiques, bric-a-brac, records and CDs.

DapperMarkt
A general-goods and fresh-food market, located in Amsterdam Oost (east) on the Dapperstraat.

BoerenMarkt
(Farmer’s Market)

This is the market where one can find all the biological farmer’s products.

BoekenMarkt
(Book Market)

Situated on the Spui square, this is the place to go to buy, sell and exchange books.
